A prominent historical landmark built in the 3rd century AD by order of Emperor Philip the Arab, with the aim of transforming his hometown of Shahba into a model Roman city. The amphitheater is distinguished by its late Hellenistic architectural style and its construction from black basalt stones, remaining a living testament to the depth of the region's cultural and civilizational heritage.
