Salkhad Castle
A majestic historical fortress perched atop a 1450-meter-high pyramidal volcanic peak in the Suwayda Governorate. Successively inhabited by various civilizations, including the Umayyads, Nabataeans, Ayyubids, and Mamluks, it is distinguished by its massive basalt construction, its passageways and corridors, and its commanding strategic position overlooking the Hauran Plain and Jabal al-Arab.
