Qatina Lake

The largest body of water and water reservoir in the Syrian governorate of Homs, it is located approximately 12 kilometers southwest of the city on the Orontes River. Historically, the lake was formed by the accumulation of water behind a natural basalt peninsula extending from the rugged terrain of Homs.
