Al-Nuri Hospital

It is a historic hospital built by Sultan Nur al-Din Zangi in Damascus in 1154 AD. It was considered the first medical university and a leading free hospital in the Islamic world. It is distinguished by its unique Zangi architecture and today occupies the site of the Museum of Medicine and Science among the Arabs, where it displays the history of Arab scientific and medical achievements.
