Palace of bone

The Azem Palace in Old Damascus is considered one of the finest examples of traditional Damascene architecture from the Ottoman era. It was built in 1749 AD (1163 AH) by order of the governor of Damascus, As'ad Pasha al-Azem, to serve as his residence and seat of government.
