Masyaf Castle

Masyaf Castle is an important historical military fortress located in the city of Masyaf in the Hama Governorate of Syria. Built on a strategic rocky plateau, its origins date back to the Roman and Byzantine eras. Historically renowned as a stronghold of the Nizari Ismaili sect, it features a defensive structure comprised of residential floors, cellars, rectangular towers, and secret passageways, and has undergone extensive restoration.
