Qantarat Barakat

Qantara Barakat in Aleppo is one of the ancient sites within the city. Its name refers to a passageway/arch (small bridge or stone arch) connected to an old neighborhood and families who lived in the area. The word "qantara" means a stone arch or small bridge that passes over a road or alley in old Aleppo. Arches were used to connect houses above alleys, to cover passageways, or as part of traditional construction.
