Jakm Tower

The Advanced Tower of Jakam is one of the most significant fortifications of the Aleppo Citadel. It was constructed during the Mamluk era by Emir Jakam, and subsequently completed and restored by Sultan Qansuh al-Ghawri. Within both the tower and the citadel, a staircase runs beneath the sloping fortifications or beneath a covered passageway.
