Khan al-Jumruk

One of the historic khans of Aleppo, this structure was built by the Ottoman Governor Ibrahim Pasha Khan-zadeh Muhammad Pasha al-Masri in 1574 AD. It features a grand, richly ornamented gateway and once served as a hub for French, English, and Dutch merchants. The khan comprises fifty storehouses on the ground floor and seventy-seven on the upper floor; it also houses a stable, a covered market (Qaysariyya), two water fountains, and a mosque.
