Church of the Forty Martyrs

The Armenian Orthodox Cathedral of the Forty Martyrs in Aleppo, Syria, dates back to the 16th century and was expanded in 1916 by the Armenian notable Bedros during the reign of Sultan IV. The church houses a distinctive and unique collection of Renaissance icons, some belonging to the Aleppo school of icon painting. The most famous of these is the Last Judgment, painted by Father Nematallah ibn Father Youssef.
